Read on to learn how this Girl with Gloss uplifts others with a loving heart and a passion for media.

What kind of obstacles have you faced getting into this career field? How did you overcome them?

Entering the entertainment industry brought many obstacles. It’s a highly saturated field, and I often found myself not knowing what I didn't know. But, to overcome that, I had to surround myself around people in the field I could learn from. I enrolled in programs that would teach me, but, most importantly, I just started to do the work. If it failed or didn’t come out as planned, I would make the adjustments and continue to push forward.

How do you remain loving in situations where love is hard or you’re angry?

I remember the word “grace.” It’s very easy to react and get upset when you’re angry and even when you’re justified to be mad. But, in those moments when I can begin to feel my blood boiling, I try my best to remind myself of the grace that God has given me and that I need to take a deep breath and do the same in trying situations.

Who is a mentor to you and why?

I have a few mentors, but the biggest would have to be my fellow WEEN sisters. (It’s a lot of us! lol.) WEEN stands for Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network, and from the founders to the various classes of graduates, this organization as a whole has served as a mentor for me.

What do you do when you feel discouraged?

I honestly go home, put on Netflix and take a nap. Or take a long bath to just relax my mind. I allow myself to feel the feeling then ask myself why am I feeling that way. Once I can pinpoint the cause of feeling discouraged, I figure out how to properly address it and go from there.

What goals have you set to accomplish in the next 5 years to advance your life or career?

I am new to being a full time entrepreneur! A little over a month ago, I walked away from my “good ol secure” government job of almost 9 years to pursue my purpose career full time. In the next 5 years, I see my company producing content that will be featured on your favorite streaming platforms, and I will become a household name as a media personality and entrepreneur.

When and how did you know you were on the right path as far as your career is concerned?

I knew I was on the right path once I started to see that my work was helping and inspiring others. I truly believe we were put here not for ourselves but to serve others.

What is the most common misconception about your career field?

That there is a such thing as an overnight success story, and that you just need to be pretty to talk in front of the camera. As a media personality and journalist, it takes a lot of practice and patience to build your skills and brand. Not everyone can be called to cover an event, red carpet, or story last minute and prepare questions on the fly. That is a true skill that may come naturally to some, but even that natural skill needs to be sharpened and practiced a lot.

What does being loving mean to you?

Being loving means that you are being kind and have good intentions behind your actions.

If you could talk to your 14- year old self, what advice would you give?

I would say, “Sis, start your Youtube channel NOW. Beg your mother to take you to those auditions and if she says no, go hit up another family member. But, make sure you get there! All of the ideas you have, just do it. It may not be perfect, but just create and put that energy into the world because you never know who is meant to see it and where it will take you.”

What is an interesting little-known fact about you?

I am scared of heights but love rollercoasters.
